One of our greatest works, this revival of Burton Style Ale pairs traditional British ingredients with Shakespeare's historic prose for a dark full-flavored beer characterized by intense malt flavors. A royal reinterpretation made ready for laymen, it's proof you need not be a king to drink like one.

Fruity, Malty, Bready, Chalky
Dark copper-brown with a long-lasting, creamy beige head. Malty and toasty in the nose, this ale is light bodied and super creamy with a prickly carbonation. Fruity and malty with some toastiness, breadiness, baked apple flavor, and a dry, leafy, semi-astringent bitterness. Chalky and biscuity in the finish. King's Dish is on the milder end of the Burton Ales spectrum, which historically were often stronger (as high as 12% ABV), darker, sweeter, and more robust. As it stands, it's good, but more of a Prince's Dish.

Had it on tap in a 16 oz glass. Poured a medium amber color. Not much on the nose, but the flavor is rich and full bodied. This is an excellent string ale.

Poured into a Breckenridge balloon glass.
Look: Murky dark plum color, maybe more ruby tones with a light cream colored head that recedes to a nice film with a collar and little to no lacing.
Aroma: Malty and sweet with subtle maple and wood notes.
Taste: An interesting sort of hop crispness blending with sweet syrupy malts and subtle wood notes. It truly is like a lighter version of a barley wine.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied and somewhat easy to drink.
Overall: Not to be enjoyed outdoors in humid, 96 degree summer heat. But I did anyway.

Deep and clear brown colored body with a lasting one-finger thick head. Roasted grain aroma with hints of caramelized sugar. Nice malt backbone flavor also featuring caramelized sugars; slightly peppery; subtle, smooth hop bitterness at the finish. Medium-heavy body; semi-dry finish.
An excellent darker ale packed with flavor.
