This is not retired...or at least not of 8/11 when I had it on tap at the Breckenridge Blake St. location in Denver.

Poured into a taster. Deep red color with a minimal off-white head that mostly receded, leaving a small amount of lacing. Smelled of caramel (mmm), roasty malts, nutty, sweet...not overly complex, but still enticing. Tasted of sweet malts, caramel and nuttiness.

Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Very drinkable!

First had: on tap at the Blake St. brewpub, Denver, CO

Not at all retired: had on tap 8/9/11. Poured a deep reddish mahogany with a small off-white head that left some spotty lacing. Aroma of sweet malts, caramel, roasty, nutty. Very bold taste, malty, very sweet, caramel, brown sugar, roasty, with some indistinct fruit esters; not much in the way of hops, perhaps just some subtle earthiness. Medium-not-quite-full-bodied and robust, very good and drinkable.

Enjoyed at the Brewer's Breakfast. A good early morning beer to chase down the Tex-Mex breakfast. A firm, bready, malty backbone gives some bold toasty notes with subtle hints of cocoa, walnuts, and light esters. The hops are quite bold and fresh with classic American citrus and pine flavors. The balance is a bit hop-forward but the malts take no back seat here. Firm, smooth body that remains malty and bready all the way through. Finishes with a fresh, spicy hop dryness.

Had this last Sunday while watching some football at the brewtap.

Poured a red tinged copper with one pinky of pearl white head. Above average lacing & head retention

S: Nice bready & roast malt notes, plus a bit of citric hops.

T: Toasty malt & bready notes up front. As this warms I get slight herbal & citric hops. Finishes a bit dry with more toasty malt notes

MF: This one skews malty, but I like them that way. Slightly over carbonated with medium body

Drank too easy, nothing earth shattering, just a good solid red

I'm not sure if this is the right beer. It didn't see 2220 red on it, it just said amber ale.

This beer was freaking awesome. It had a nice appearance and an awesome apple phenol smell. The taste is very nice and has a nice caramel malt profile. The mouthfeel is nice and thick bodied and the drinkability is superb.

A - Cider (amber) vinegar color. Light beige cap. Thin lace.

S - Clean aroma. Bready malt. Spicy hop. Marzen style.

T - Crystal malt? Light hops apparent in flavor at first. The hops are more forward in the middle and finish. Caramel and a subtle fruitiness. Nice balance overall.

M - Medium body and carbonation.

D - High drinkability. More hops than Avalanche. Very sessionable.

Pours a clear red-amber, topped with a thin one finger yellowish ivory head, leaves partial webs of lacing.
Caramel, flowers and citrus rind make up the aroma.
Caramel, bread, toffee notes in the taste, mild bitterness.
Light bodied, pretty simple and it gets boring after a few sips.
