The appearance has a reddish quality; that is odd for a porter but it indicates the use of actual raspberries or at least raspberry juice. The raspberries in the flavor provide just enough contrast to the sweet vanilla.
There still is very little roast quality here. Nevertheless, I prefer this variant to the straight-up Vanilla Porter.

Raspberry Vanilla Porter pours a dark brown, with a small, but long lasting head. Aroma is sweet raspberry. Flavor has a vanilla base, with lots of sweet candy like raspberry flavors on top. Good body and feel. Overall, lots of flavors, very sweet, raspberry flavor is a bit fake.

From a can. Reddish-brown color with an inch of light brown foam. Smells of caramel malt. Medium body, well carbonated. Sweet raspberry and roasted malt. Lives up to the name, but a little too sweet for me.

Drinks pretty decent it's more like a raspberry roast water than a porter to be honest. Definitely a one-off or worth skipping in a way I think it tastes a little less better then the regular vanilla porter which I haven't had in some time.

Poured into a nonic.
Looks like the original. Dark brown and crystal clear. Aromas of berry and vanilla on the nose, along with some toasted malts. The flavor follows the nose, with some coffee and chocolate joining fairly sweet raspberry. The hops are a little lacking. Earthy and grassy, but a bit overwhelmed with the sweetness. Medium bodied. Chalky and drying.
Just ok.

Aroma is sweet raspberries and toasted/earthy malts. The flavor is earthy malts, fruit and a sweet raspberry/tart/slightly dry finish.

This is ALSO disappointing. Not bad. Just meh feel, flavors way too subtle. Flavors can be cheap that isn't the main issue, it's that there's just not much. Plenty of breweries will dunk on these releases but that's not surprise. Forever wondering how much AB got involved here since the sale. Getting into beer now at this age, Breckenridge and New Belgium are really disappointing.
Update: yeah this is by far my least favorite in the set. It's like slightly artificially fruited 1% milk.

it was only a matter of time until these guys started playing around with this lineup staple. this is a version spiked with raspberry, and while it tastes pretty good on the first few sips, it gets pretty sweet and desserty quick, and is not something i would really be interested in having more than one of. the base beer is still readily identifiable in here, the vanilla strong in the nose, the base porter pretty deep and substantial, and the sweetness all the way through it from first sniff to the finish of each sip. the raspberry at first adds a little tang to me, cutting some of the sugar, not quite all the way natural, jammy and concentrated and cooked to me more than real fruit, but its not cheap or gross either. as it warms though, additional sugar from the fruit starts to weigh this down, and it clings to the teeth and tongue, very sweet. lots of body, kind of a wintery complexion, some chocolate from the grain is nice with both the raspberry and the vanilla, and the mix of flavors and their proportions are actually quite pleasant, i just need this to be dried out a little more if i am going to drink more than a few pulls of it. i like the espresso bitterness from the roast i get late, but its not enough to bring this back to balanced. better than i thought it would be, not as fake or forced, but its pretty robust and overly sugary. nice in small doses i suppose, wintery and festive, maybe a good valentines day drink...

On tap in nampa, served in a pint glass.
Pours dark brown-to-black with red highlights showing at the edge of the glass - wimpy head fades and doesn’t lace well.
Raspberry and vanilla are definitely the most prominent notes on the nose - coffee and roasted malts, cocoa underneath.
Flavors mesh well - raspberry isn’t outta control or ‘sour’-like, vanilla balances it well, pushing into into ‘dessert’ territory without it being cloying or really anything like a Pastry-stout.
Medium-bodied and smooth, somewhat creamy.
A decent stout that performs well with the vanilla, and the raspberry doesn’t take it over. Worth trying.
