A solid offering from Breckenridge! This fine Burton style ale pours
from the big cork topped bottle into a snifter with a deep mahogany
color and a thick white foam that lingers long and subsides to a thick
ring and thin layer with spotty lacing. Nose of brown sugars, woodsy
barrel oaken notes, dark cherry and pitted fruit notes, light breaded
malts, and moderately strong bourbon and vanilla notes. Flavors
hit the perfect harmony focusing on what tastes like The Kings Dish
recipe aged in bourbon barrels. Caramel and dark black cherries dance
into an onslaught of bourbon and vanilla with light breaded malt notes
and brandy like qualities with a nice oak laden aftertaste mingling with
boozy bourbon and vanilla. Excellent mouth feel; medium body, low carbonation,
nicely warming, and finishing with an earthy bourbon laden finish.
Overall a SOLID brew from a forgotten style.
Excellent!
I know a chap from the UK who would appreciate this, a raised glass
to you Keith.
Cheers

Corked and caged bottle.
It pours a clear mahogany with a minimal presence of foam.
Nose is dominated by the Whiskey with some hints of vanilla, caramel malt.
Taste wise, it is aboot equal between the caramel malt and whisky. Vanilla and woody notes reside.
Lightish body and carbonation.
Sounds better reading than drinking.
