Nitro Orange Cream Ale gives a refreshing summer twist to a historic American beer style. Its orange flavor and citrus aroma come from the winning combination of orange zest added during fermentation, and the dry hop addition of Mandarina Bavaria hops. Carefully balanced hops and malts create an easy-drinking, medium-bodied beer. Nitrogen accentuates the already smooth character of this thirst-quenching Nitro Series summer seasonal.

After searching for a cream ale to actually like, this one now makes two that I do...

Is there anything more entertaining than just hard pouring a nitro, I really do enjoy doing that, and it was such as joy for this offering. Great champagne coloration with orange highlights but what was more appealing was the creamy head with staying power all the way down the glass and decent lacing as well. The smell was lightly sweet on oranges with a mouthfeel that was mostly watery though lightly creamy as well. Taste was full of oranges, malt, and I even noted some lemon flavor - just a touch. Overall this was a very solid beer and one I will be on the look out, next season...

Pint can - Best enjoyed by 09/06/19 stamped on bottom:

Pours a dull orange-tinted yellow amber. Doesn't do the full cascade, but has a creamy white head that leaves frothy lacing.

The smell is orange creamsicle - ish.

The taste is towards orange creamsicle, but also something reminiscent of Fruit Loops cereal. Some grain. Something artificial. Sweet finish.

It is light-bodied. A bit watery. Nitro gives some smoothness.

This novelty brew goes towards orange creamsicle, but is mixed in with Fruit Loops cereal (with milk). Not so easy to get through, especially with artificial sweetness character. Got through it but wouldn't get again.

First taste made me think of an orange creme soda, which is, I suppose, what they were going for lol.

Has a head that lasts thru the entire drink (and I nursed them). The head stayed thin but present throughout the 20 minute session and definitely had a yeast/malty flavor prominent.

I am CANtinuing where I had left off during New Nitro (N2) CAN Mother's Day Beer Sunday (Week 742) - drinking & reviewing Nitro (N2) CANs in support of The CANQuest (tm). I am glad to have you along for the ride!

From the N2 CAN: "Nitro Series"; "Nitrogen Charged [-] Seasonal"; "Nitro On the Go"; "Chill at 42 (Deg.) F [-] Open and wait 5 sec [-] ENJOY!"; "No glass? No problem. Drink it straight from the can."

I did some gentle in-CAN agitating before Crack!ing open the vent. Doing so led to a loud hissing noise, so I CANtinued with a hard, aggro Glug to ensure that the N2 had a ChANce to do its job. It did, beginning a cascade that finally settled into just over a finger of dense, foamy, creamy, French Vanilla-colored head with great retention. Color was an orangish-Amber (SRM = > 7, < 9) with NE-quality clarity. Nose had a sweet orangish quality, more like tangerine or Mandarin orange than citrusy orange. Mmm. Mouthfeel was full and creamy. Once again, the taste was muted in comparison to the nose. It was more bitter than the nose had led me to expect & if it was truly meant to evoke an Orange Creamsicle, it failed miserably. I will grant that it was smooth & easy-drinking, but it was also disappointing. YMMV.

Orange Cream ale pours a copper color, with a long lasting, large nitro like head. Weak aroma, but hints of sweet orange. The flavor has notes of sweet orange, and very subtle notes of vanilla. Very weak and watery body. Overall, its tasty, and tastes good, but very very weak flavored, and weak bodied.

15.2 ounce can into imperial pint glass, best before 8/31/2018. Pours slightly hazy medium golden yellow color with a small dense off white head with great retention that reduces to a thin cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of juicy mandarin oranges, citrus zest, vanilla, cream, cracker, corn, and white bread; with light notes of herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance of oranges, lactose, pale malt/corn, and light earthy hop notes; with good strength. Taste of juicy mandarin oranges, citrus zest, vanilla, cream, cracker, corn, and white bread; with light notes of herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness. Mild herbal, grassy, spicy, citrus peel bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of mandarin oranges, citrus zest, vanilla, cream, cracker, corn, white bread, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Nice robustness of oranges, lactose, pale malt/corn, and light earthy hop flavors; with a good malt/bitterness balance, and not cloying flavors after the finish. Touch of lingering harsh astringency, but not overwhelming. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Light carbonation and medium body; with a smooth, creamy/silky/grainy, lightly sticky, and slightly resinous/rindy mouthfeel that is good. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.5%. Overall this is a pretty nice flavored cream ale. All around good robustness of oranges, lactose, pale malt/corn, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth easy to drink, despite the lightly harsh/drying finish. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. They did a good job for the style expectations, just wish it was more refreshing. Well balanced between all flavors, with nothing overwhelming. A nicely enjoyable offering.

16 oz can.
Light body but not quite watery thanks to medium+ carbonation.
Near medium bitterness in a smooth body with conservative flavoring from, apparently, orange peel.

After settling from the aggressive pour this is actually an almost clear light yellow with a thin white head that leaves plenty of lacing. The aroma is very feint orange. Flavor is light "Fruit Loop" orange. The feel is very creamy and lacks carbonation. Overall not a beer that I will drink again.

Haven't found many nitro beers I'm fond of but this one did it for me. Sweet and light. The flavor and nitro aspect work well together.

-pint. nitro series.

A: Beautiful orange cream soda color with an soft and pillowy cream head developed by the nitro widget. Solid in structure, eggshell white in color, the nitro adds a beautiful texture and topping to the drink with a soft display of micro-bubbles, loosely dense within. A bubble wrap like lacing of suds adores the vessel. The creamy head, courtesy of the nitro widget assumes most of the good nature and rating here.

S: The nose was of sour peaches and dry cream. Some fruity notes of honey dew and oranges are vague and of moderate strength. The overall appeal didn't lend much to the senses in terms of the orange cream sicle intention and missed the mark both in strength and character.

T: The flavor had a bit of sour tartness, again, missing the mark of a sweet orange sicle. Tartness of oranges and sour peaches lend some fruity nature, but was musky, less sweet. Dry cream and muted vanilla missed the mark of the cream nature.

M: One of the few saving graces of this drink was the mouthful which I found to be nice, compliments of the nitro-widget. Soft and pillowy feel on the tongue, it delivered a soft massage of the nitro bubbles lending to a creamy feel and texture, delicate and light bodied in nature. Overall the mouthful was one of the few highlights here, and without it would surely sink this overall rating into dismal lows.

O: Didn't care much for the flavor here, think it missed the mark of it's intention, nothing like a orange cream sicle, and the flavor was unimpressive upon first sip, making for a struggling finish that was more bland, and undefined. Was truly hoping for a flavor of an old skool orange cream sicle to remind me of my youth. The drink-ability factor suffered from the lack of disappointment and excitement as well as the bland flavoring. Props for the inventiveness of trying something different to give a good spin on the cream ale style, the can design was deliciously tempting for an unexpecting buyer, but the brewer missed the mark and fell short of its marketing strategy. Pass in the end, unless your curiosity gets the best of you for a single serving, just don't go in with high hopes.
