We've partnered with our buddies at Breckenridge Distillery to bring you a whiskey barrel aged beer worthy of sharing this winter season. Velvety and complex, our Barrel-aged Imperial Oatmeal Stout has notes of semi-sweet dark chocolate covered cherries, espresso, and toffee. Hints of caramel sweetness from Breckenridge Distillery's high-rye bourbon barrels blend effortlessly, while flaked oats are added for a silky mouthfeel. Bold, boozy, and smooth, Buddy Pass is best shared with a good friend.

12oz bottle pours pretty much black and opaque with a khaki head that fizzles a bit. This doesn't knock your socks off in any category but is very solid throughout; dark caramel, roasted malt qualities, minor char, nice vanilla flavors showing up on the back of the palate, hints of chocolate and coffee, bourbon is present without being hot at all, the oatmeal isn't really too pronounced in the body, more slick and medium-bodied, easily drinkable and very enjoyable overall.

Bottle into pint glass. Pours a dark mahogany color with a brief light tan head. Initial impression is cocoa, coffee, and booze. Mouthfeel is medium-thick and quite smooth. Alcohol is quite well hidden. Finish fades to a semi-sweet chocolate. Overall, I think the BA version is far superior to the original Buddy Pass.
