I had it on cask at Hay Merchant in Houston, served in a Breckentidge tulip glass.
The beer was a pale orange/yellow color with a foamy finger thick, pale straw head. It was fairly hazy with some light penetration.
The nose was fantastic. It smelled of some pine and resin, some small citrus, a light maltiness and was beautiful rounded out with cherry. The cherry smelled more of an artificial or candy cherry than real cherry, but was still pleasant.
The taste followed the smell fairly closely. Initally it was quite bitter and sharp with hops being the main characteristic. At the end of the taste, the cherry came shining through perfectly. It wasn't overpowering, but perfectly rounded the beer out. Once again, it's more of the candy tasting cherry, but wasn't overly sweet, which is what made it so great. It's almost like someone dropped a Jolly Rancher into it, without so much sugar.
The mouthfeel was nice and smooth, though maybe a little overcarbonated.
Overall it's a great beer. The cherry does the beer justice.
