Appearance: The color is appropriately red - that red/golden color that makes your tongue water. The head fell quickly.

Smell: The smell is pretty fresh - almost odorless. I tried to get a feel for it, but it seemed evasive. Might have been the bar setting.

Taste: The taste is surprisingly refreshing. There is a really nice mix going on in here: some of the sweeter hops are working in combination with fermented apples, pears and grapes.

Served on draft at the brewpub. The aroma features tons of malt. There are notes of sweet caramel, english toffee, and a pinch of burnt or roast character in the distance. There is also some fruity yeast character. There is a slight bitterness in the finish. It rolls over the tongue very nicely. Worth the time.

Light malt smell. Tastes watered down. Cloudy brown/ red in color. Huge let down

A - Poured a clear, burgundy color with a small, off-white head of bubbly foam. It had nice retention and left some sudsy trails of foam on the glass.

S - It smelled earthy, grassy and of sweet maltiness.

T - Biscuity malt sweetness leads off followed by caramel and a grassy/earthy bitterness. The bite is mild but adds balance.

M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A light to medium bodied ale with a dry, clean finish.

O - This is a nice Irish Red ale. Easy drinking and sessionable, it makes a nice spring seasonal.

this was a pretty decent red. dark ruby brown in color with some very fine particulates forming a dense dark core in the middle and top of the liquid. tan head. got some caramel, molasses, and roasty notes in the nose. tasted pretty good with a moderate sweetness balanced by the underlying hops and roasty flavors. medium in body and carbonation, pretty well-balanced. would like a bit more hops but overall very nice.

Draught @ Brewpub: This one poured a hazy, dark amber color. There was a good sized frothy off-white head on it. It left lots of lacing. The nose is a bit mild. Some sweet caramel notes as well as a touch of floral hops. The taste is OK. Caramel malt with just a bit of sweetness. Maybe a touch of roastiness in the background. Barely dry finish. Nothing special, but very easy to drink.
