From the 500 ml bottle in a snifter via our friends from across the pond, Keith and
his lovely better half Julie. Cheers! This solid English porter pours a dark dark brown with
dark tea highlights and a nice head of off white to khaki foam that subsides to a thick ring,
thin wafting layer, and sports some nice light lacing. Nose of coffee, dark berry hints
of blackberry, biscuit, and dark roasted malts. Flavors supply the notes I seek in an English
porter. Dark coffee, dark cocoa, biscuit, more subtle dark fruits, and subtle char touched
with subtle tobacco. Mouth feel is medium, smooth, light carbonation that is subtly soft,
and finishing with a nice bitter malt note that is moderately dry.
Overall, a solid porter in the proper way from across the pond.
Excellent!
Cheers
