a newer one for these guys, as distinct from other toddy coffee beers they have done in the past, a rich and dry porter, fuller bodied, blended with a ton of cold brewed coffee, which really is amazing. its simple, but as good as anything in its style family, one of the better beers i have had from them overall, and a downright delicious coffee beer, fresh and refreshing for a dark beer, as good as a morning beer as a nightcap, infinitely drinkable and versatile, i love it. eggshell dark chocolate brown, with a short lived light tan head on top of the pint glass. a strong aroma of low acid dark roasted concentrated strong coffee, super fresh and earthy, deep and dark, with some chocolate nuance and average bitterness, a little ashy char element, and a wonderful smoothness, this seriously smells like half coffee half porter. the base porter tastes great, but this beer is really about the seamless relationship of the beer and the coffee together, the dark barley and chocolate malt loving their compliments in the coffee, i feel like the recipient of a lucky moment in time with this one, its the liquid embodiment of a wonderful synergy thats often reached for but seldom captured, its perfect. the flavor is a textile of interwoven coffee and dark malts, made cozy with some oats or a richer grain element, a smooth enveloping texture, a stiff dryness, and a little caffeine cruise in its wake. enormously delicious, a new benchmark for coffee porter! not to be missed.
