another very solid beer in a traditional style from these guys, seems like thats sort of what they do best. a quick poke around the internet reveals they have done a few takes on this style over the years, but this latest one is really nice, one of the cleaner drinking takes on the style i have had really, and not all all alcoholic for how strong it actually is. pretty sure i am writing up the correct iteration. its golden to brass in color with some haze but also some shine, and it has a short head, not as high and lasting as some can have, but pretty nevertheless. aroma and flavor of belgian yeast esters and sweetness, honey and wheat, pears and green apples, white peaches and green grapes, clove and tea, not so sweet its candied but with a nice linger to it, well refined and fermented down pretty low, low enough to be drinkable at this strength, and it hides it so well! mild banana and golden raisin and sauternes, pleasant and rich, but satisfying in big gulps, a perfect night cap and a cool belgian beer from these guys, who can basically do it all from my experience...
