Sexy, black, opaque with tan silky head. Faint aroma of chocolate coffee, and dark malt. Not overly complicated, taste of iced coffee and toasted nuts on the back of the tongue. Drinkability is killer because the nitrogenation creates such a rich and creamy texture and straight forward taste.

Beautiful dark black color with a creamy 3/4" head - served from a nitro tap at the brewery into a pint glass. My first impression was that the mouthfeel was lighter than what I hope for in a stout - almost crisp rather than creamy - but as the cold afternoon wore on, it became apparent that this is a beer built for having more than one. I'll be back, and I'll have many more.

A - This looks like a great Irish Dry Stout. Opaque, jet black with a thick, creamy, egg-shell white head of foam. Long-lasting head just doesn't go away and leaves sheets of lace as you drink it.

S - Smelled of flaked oats and that's about it.

T - Oats, light malt and light chocolate. There is grassy hop presence.

M - It was soft and a little thin. A light bodied stout.

O - This was an okay Irish stout. It looked great, but didn't deliver on taste.

Got a chance to try this brewery's wares at the STL microfest - and was I impressed!

This light alcohol brew (3.8%) poured a deep, dark black - plenty of ivory head for such a light malt brew, too. Aroma was good, with a nice plush kick of toasted biscuit, which progressed into the quaff quite well. Good hop balance in the finish with the English Fuggle and East Kent Goldings.

This dark, therefore "heavy", HAR, was very light bodied, a very good session beer for winter, or even in the summer heat. Well done!

Appearance was dark brown with about 1/8 inch of head that stayed with the beer all the way down. Honestly the appearance of the beer was the best thing about it. There was hardly any aroma; chocolate and weak coffee and the taste was exactly the same. It tasted a little like chocolate milk with a little coffee intermingled. I don't know if it was just the batch but I found this beer to be extremly bland.

Pours dark black and maroon with deep tan head that retais a moderate amount of lace.
Aroma is dominated by malty chocolate and coffee with a faint roasted note hiding.
Flavor is an amalgam of the smells but the roasted nuttiness of the malts stands out. A touch of smoke arises as it warms up a bit.
Mouthfeel was very thin for style. Had kind of an abrout or abbreviated finish.
Drinkability was above average. Drinkable enough brew, but not sure on the style designation or if this really one to seek out or not. Not bad, again just boring which seems a little bit par for the course for this place, except for the Porter.

This beer was a little thin for the style, but a good drink.

A good looking beer. Great big blackness. Had a 1/4" dark tan head. Excellent lacing and retention on every drink... all the way down the glass.
Some definite coffee and chocolate smells... dusty.
Taste is pretty good. I've had better, but this isn't bad.
Some good roastiness.
I'd order it again.

Pitch black with a froathy off white head. It really draws you in with its looks and then BAM!!! Nothing. No real aroma to speak of. Moderalty bitter. Very Light roast flavor, if there is any flavor at all. Pretty thin. Silky. Not all that good. Not recommended.

This is nice looking beer- pour is a dark brown mahoghanny with ruby tones when held up to the light. There is a nice deep brown layer of head on the top as well.

Smell is malty, roasted, with hints of coffee.

Taste is very mellow. A bit of coffee bitter mixes well with a roasted malt flavor. The aftertaste is sort of smokey...

This beer was a little thin for the style, but a good drink.

This heavy black colored stout has a nice tan foamy head with good retention. The aroma is light and consists of roasted malt. The dry character of the stout is apparent with a hint of roasted malt. The flavor is not as watery as other locally brewed dry stouts. This is a filling heavy brew.
