I usually don't like ambers, but this one is quite nice on oak. Would drink again.

On tap at The Surly Goat in West Hollywood, CA.
Pours a hazy copper with a foamy beige head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of toasted malt, caramel, nut, and wood aromas. Taste is much the same with toast, caramel, and wood flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of wood bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty, but has a slightly better set of aromas in my opinion.
