On cask at Ladyface Ale Companie in Agoura Hills, CA.
Billed as Red Rye with Kilbeggan Irish Whiskey soaked oak chips.
Pours a murky crimson-brown with a foamy tan head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, caramel, fruit, whiskey, and wood aromas. Taste is much the same with caramel and intense woody flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a low level of carbonation with an almost flat mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer with a nice whiskey smell, but the flavor is very woody and makes it difficult to finish the pour.
