16oz can. No dating information found.
Murky, reddish brown colored body. Chunks of sediment at the bottom of the glass. One finger of light beige head, but this evolves into an active surface storm. No lacing.
Aroma of bourbon and rye whiskey barrels, along with the bright smell of fermented plums.
Taste is drenched with bourbon/rye whiskey soaked plums. Oak tannins. Sweet malts. Gets very earthy mid-point on. Presents the contrast between whiskey and stone fruit, both of which are sweet in presentation. Yeast is dry and fruity. Extended aftertaste stays earthy and fruity.
Medium mouthfeel. No alcohol burn. The higher ABV% is more expressed with vapors. Dry finish. Okay carbonation.
Whiskey barrel aging has put its stamp on this fermented plum tripel.
