Dark golden hue with a light haze. Thin rimmed head leaves spotty foam. Light banana, trace clove, and sweet breadiness in aroma. Smells like the Westmalle yeast strain fermented at a low temp. Tame aroma. Pronounced honey sweetness upfront in flavor is ensued by mellow banana esters, then offset by mild hop bitterness mid palate. Trace black licorice emerges late. Lightly bodied, decently crisp, thinnish in mouthfeel. Good drinkability, perhaps dangerously so. Finishes w/ sucrose like sweetness and mellow clove. Not quite assertive enough in yeast derived character, but well balanced and enjoyable nonetheless.
