Pours a hazy orange color. In spite of the general haziness you can clearly see lots of hop matter and yeast suspended in the beer. Thin white head dissipates steadily leaving nothing but a very thin ring of foam along the outside of the top of the beer.

Smell has notes of peach and orange with some doughy cracker malts providing the backbone. Some hints of dried grass and pine are also noted. Overall the aroma is rather subtle and somewhat subdued.

Taste follows the nose with orange, orange rind, grapefruit, grapefruit rind, pine sap, with a cracker malt backbone. Extremely bitter flavor starts almost immediately and builds through the finish. The bitterness is almost astringent on the finish and lingers on the tongue.

Feel is fizzy, with prickly carbonation. Bitter - mostly dry finish. Pretty light beer.

Overall this is an alright beer. Far too astringently bitter for my taste.

Poured out a hazy, golden yellow color with a small, white head of foam. It smelled of tropical fruits - mango, pineapple and orange. Sweet fruity tasted with hints of toasted caramel and bitter piney hops.

Pours a clear maize color. 1/4 inch head of a white color. Good retention and good lacing. Smells of pale malt, sweet malt, a citrus hops. Fits the style of a New England IPA. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp, with an average carbonation level. Tastes of pale malt, hint of spicy hops, slight oatmeal, hint of alcohol, sweet malt, and citrus hops. Overall, good appearance, body, and blend.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 9/19/2017. Pours very hazy/cloudy golden orange/amber color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, lemon/orange rind, pepper, pine, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 6.7%. Overall this is an excellent IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/drying finish. Very similar to Zephyr, but more cloudy/darker in color. Very intensely vibrant, dank, and piney on hops; with a nice balancing malt backbone, and no residual sweetness. Still doesn’t match the original Stormy. Too bitter to be a proper NEIPA, but still really enjoyable and never overly aggressive.
