Wanderer session IPA by North Peak.

Well this is my third time grabbing a brew outta these guys that gave me two that impressed me, so let's see if the third can do the same.

Look - Allllllrightyyyy then. The head is a monster. Like a Ron Jeremy cock head...head. wasn't able to empty the bottle until the fourth pour...y'know what I'm gonna just slice it with a fucking knife at this point..wow that head tastes like getting my mouth washed with soap as a young boy who said fuck a lot. Anyway! Very clear copper with the carbonation levels at medium. Spotty lacing. 3.25

Smell - Alright welpz I'm getting the maltyness and a touch of the hops and an overdose of wheaty presence. else. 3.25

Taste - Well I can tell you straigh and to the point that this is a ' new guy ' IPA. More like a pale ale really. A touch of grapefruit on the forefront followed by an immediate killswitch that brings you back to...college? Duh fuck is even in this stuff?..3.25.

Feel - Body is creamy with enough cadbonation to pop a champagne top. Not much else to say. 3.25

Overall - Look, if I want something sessionable and " all day " I'll drink a ( Insert religious expletive here whereas I am Atheist and don't buy into such fairytales) Molson. When I come to crafts I expect a CRAFT BEER, not some half-assed attempt at fitting into a market the brewer has long surpassed. BUT, it is a prime introductory beer to the world of craft beers. Has a new flavor for the new guys, but nothing for the seasoned, or even apprentice veteran. And for that...3.25.

I don't know how anyone can like this beer. Here goes:

A: Best - and only - good thing about the beer. Dark but clear brown with a slight yellowish/gold hue. Good head and lacing.

S: Goes downhill from here. Lots of onions, garlic and earthy scents. Some caramel malt and grainy cereal in the background, but nothing to write home about.

T: Took one sip and drain-poured it. Absolutely rancid.

F: I suppose it was ok. Really just wanted to dump it down after that first sip.

O: No.

From BeerAdvocate Magazine #85 (Feb 2014):

Crisp, Citrus, Clean, Bitter

One brewer’s Pale Ale is another’s Session IPA. Seems this sub-style of the IPA has caught on and is here to stay. Big orangey aroma with a clean grainy backing, and it smells like an IPA. Lighter bodied, tight crispness with a snappy hop bitterness. Grassy beginnings, orange pith to floral resin for the hop flavor. Cracker-like maltiness is just enough to hold this beer together. A solid offering.
