A dark, northern MI "session" ipa style, influenced by the wonders of rye malt. Experience the roast, the sweet, the spice & of course the hops! Plenty to ponder while enjoying a pint of this black rye brew
According to North Peak this is a black IPA, but could not find black IPA listed.
This dark brown beer with a tan head has one of the best retention and some of the nicest lacing I have seen on a beer. The smell is hops, rye, caramel and chocolate. The taste starts out with some pine followed by some citrus and floral hops with some rye lingering in the back. After that some sweetness and more hops come in and some bitter chocolate is at the end and in the aftertaste. The mouthfeel is smooth, yet semi-dry and very pleasant to drink. Overall a very tasty beer that is highly recommended while still available.
