On tap at the North Peak brewery on Front St. in Traverse City MI. Served in a shaker pint glass.
Appearance: Partly cloudy amber-brown. No real head or lacing noted.
Smell: Very little aroma; just the barest hint of something, but so faint I couldn’t place it.
Taste: Good toasted malt, with a hit of noble hops and some piney/leafy notes.
Mouthfeel: Good carbonation, crisp, but a it of a wet finish.
Overall / Drinkability: Just Ok. It’s missing that depth of malt flavor you get with this style of beer and the lack of aroma was surprising. Did pair well with the food, but it was rather unremarkable. Would not want another. Should have had one of the IPAs instead, as the Mrs had a hazy IPA that had all the flavor and aroma I was hoping to get in a craft beer this evening.
