Primary fermentation in American oak barrels gives this medium bodied golden ale refreshingly tart flavors of lemon zest and wood. A Talkeetna favorite.

Appearance is murky golden, I wish I’d been able to keep more of the sediment out, but alas. Head is only a faint ring, more would be prettier, but it’s a sour, so it is what it is. Smell is hard to get a read on, especially without much head. Smell does eventually grow, tart citrus, lemon and grapefruit mainly. Flavor is rich and tart with nice round wood notes in the finish. Mouthfeel agreed with this. All tart, no funk, some wood.

On tap at Humpy’s. This was poured into a nonic pint. The appearance was a nice hazy yellow color with a slight transparency about it. Some carbonation was seen rising. The head dissipated within about a minute leaving some stringy lacing here and there. The smell had a sweet to bitter citrus, grapefruit and grassy and somewhat piney with a mellow sour - ness. The taste was sweet, bitter and had a mellow sour - ness to the flavor. There’s a light sour and sweet orange juice like aftertaste but I liked it. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a superb sessionability about it. The carbonation was good for me and for the style. Overall, wow, for me, I really liked this one but then again, it seemed like the sour - ness was tamed a bit.

Light golden-yellow color with a thin white head. Slightly sour aroma -- mildly sweet. Similar taste, no real body or depth to speak of. It's fine, and refreshing sitting outside on a deck, but nothing to go searching out.
