Mother Ale is the lightest member of our signature ales. It is brewed with pilsner and wheat malts, hopped with American-grown lager type hops, and is fermented with lager yeast at warm ale temperatures, which makes it a steam beer. It is our attempt at brewing an ale that approximates the smooth drinkability of a pilsner lager. Why the name Mother Ale? Because the brewers love their mothers.

Look: Clear yellow with a high white head that has very good retention.
Smell: Citrus and light malts.
Taste: Mild hoppy bitterness with a slight citrus flavor. Some sweeter malts come in with a dash of coriander. Loads of flavor, especially for a Blonde. This beer is definitely closer to Pilsner.
Feel: Good. High in the mouth with medium carbonation.
Overall: Great brew that definitely packs a flavor punch. I would drink this beer again in a heartbeat.

Draft into pint glass. Pours a clear medium gold with a modest white head. Initial impresion is surprisingly juicy, with biscuity malts and just a hint of bitternes. Mouthfeel is medium, as is carbonation, Finish is smooth and sligghtly malty. Overall, not bad. I'd revisit.

Clear gold color. Moderate head which is continually replenished by upward bubbles. Nice wide streaks for lace.
The smell is nearly nonexistent.
The flavor starts with a light pale malt and no graininess. Decent body with a slightly elevated carbonation level. Very nice hop presence in the finish -- not enough to overwhelm, but enough to provide a distinct balance to the beer. This makes it one of the better Blondes I've had.

The appearance is a pale golden colored body with a one finger white foamy head that quickly dies leaving some nice sticky foamy lacing in its wake. The smell has a clean crisp sweet wheat and a little bit of fresh sweet corn. The taste is mainly sweet through the wheat and corn and combined pretty well done - I like it. It has a sweet wheat aftertaste and dry crisp finish. The palate is light bodied and is fairly sessionable. Carbonation comes across fairly smooth and I’d say pretty good to me. Overall, pretty nice blonde ale that I could have again.
