This is a pretty straightforward, by-the-books barleywine. Which is not a bad thing, really. I imagine barleywine is a pretty challenging style to brew, and every aspect of this one is solid. It is very well balanced and smooth on the palate with a deep amber hue. I was told by the bartender that this is a 10%+ beer, which, if its true, is interesting since the alcohol is very well hidden. I can't say I understand the name "Blonde Bombshell" since there is nothing blonde about this beer. I almost passed this up, thinking it was just a light pilsner or lager.
