On-tap at Callahan's. A pale ale brewed with Peeps, this should be interesting...
A: The beer is a strange looking dark pink color with a paler pink foam on top. Some hints of lacing around the glass.
S: I was amazed by the nose on this beer. A really intense hit of grapefruit and pine hops without much in the way of malt. Perhaps just a hint of sugar.
T: The hop flavor is not quite as intense as I would have hoped for after smelling this beer, but still a really nice grapefruit character. This one is a touch sweet and sugary, presumably from the Peeps, with a nice bitterness on the finish.
M: A medium bodied beer with a moderate carbonation and a crisp finish, helped out by the piney bitterness.
D: What can I say, a gimmicky beer that's actually pretty damn good. This sounds like one of Charlie P's screwy homebrew recipes (maybe it is?), but I'd definitely drink this again.

On-tap at Callahan's, San Diego.
Not quite sure if this is a one-off or a rotating release. It's effectively their pale ale, but with a bunch of those scary, radioactive, pink candy Peeps melted and dumped in during the brewing process! It pours what I can only describe as a clear pinkish-amber color with a decent white head. Aroma is like an artificially sweetened APA... taste is similar. It's really not bad, but a bit unsettling. Light- to medium-bodied and pretty smooth; decent drinkability as well (the Peep-sugars tend to fade into the background after a bit). Still, more of a novelty than anything really worthwhile.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
