Appearance - This was a beautiful beer. The color was a bright straw that lit up the entire pub. The head was moderated by the bartender so that he could fill the glass to the brim but the foam was persistent.

Smell - This aroma leads off with a rich grain that is quite fresh and shows a lot of depth and character. There's a light hay smell here as well.

Taste - The grain here was very rich and clean. The flavor was sharp and crisp and quite powerful. They malt had a hay-like quality and seemed quite expensive. You got the feeling that they did not try to cut corners when picking out the ingredients. The finish has a light sweetness at the end which was very pleasing. The finish is where most American beers fall off the table but this one ended just right.

Mouthfeel - This is shy of medium-bodied but I wouldn't call it light. It is extremely smooth but sharp at the same time. The carbonation is about as crisp as you can get it without becoming fizzy.

Drinkability - Boy was this good. It was amazingly refreshing and highly drinkable and easily the beer beer in the pub.

On-tap at Callahan's

A: This is one of the paler beers I've come across in quite some time. The most feeble of yellow hues keep this one from being clear.

S: The nose is similarly lifeless, offering not much more than a touch of sweet grain/malt.

T: To my surprise, there actually was a flavor to the beer! Though it mostly consists of sweet malts, there is a touch of bitterness and perhaps some floral hops.

M: As you might expect, the body is light and the carbonation is plentiful. But, it's somewhat necessary for this beer.

D: One of those beers that's made for the Bud Light crowd. I can see how this is a choice for some, but I'd prefer a beer with a bit more going on.
