This was enjoyed as yet another of the casks available at the Real Ale fest at the Rat. I remember seeing the same White Marsh Cavern description at the bar the last time I swung up that way for a movie. They must have a big basement up there on the Ave.
The menu described it as having a light amber color. From my notes, its color was an off yellow like a macro lager, not much amber was in sight, and it was clearer than the other cask brews of the day with just a bit of haze. Unlike the other brews, it had a hefty and billowy head with very large bubbles that reduced to a thin lace.
Sweet malt aroma.
Oooh yeah. I really liked this brew. Had a significant malt profile that came across as chewy and creamy. It also had lite citrus notes and a touch of hops on the backend. Finished clean and dry.
This would be an awesome session brew. I could see myself enjoying it by the grill or perhaps during a Ravens tailgate. My first, and probably not my last, Red Brick Station brew.
