This is described as an India Pale Kölsch and rated at 70 IBUs. While it's almost entirely unlike a Kölsch, it's a rich and pleasant brew. Handsome golden amber with a pile of white foam in the tall IPA glass.
Rather sweet and quite malty tasting. Actually it's more like a strong pale Bockbier. You could use your imagination and say there is some of the German perfumey hop. In any case it's nicely bitter to balance the malt and sugar. On tap at the brewery tasting room on El Cajon Blvd.
