Poured on-tap at the San Diego Brewing Co brewpub. The beer is a very dark brown-copper coloring, with a minimal, light head. The beer has a nose heavy in hops and cedar/pine. The beer is a full bodied, full tongue hops flavor, with subtle hints of citrus. The hops flavor explodes on every part of your tongue, and overwhelm (in a good way) your tastebuds. The beer is sweet and bitter on the aftertaste, and very well balanced with those flavors. The beer has an extremely smooth finish for the bold flavor. Bravo!

Actually an Imperial Red, per SDBC. And, it isn't a one time brew, but it is only the second time they have brewed it, so it is not rotational, really. I picked the best categories I could find.
A - Between cola and tea, short off white head, leave to ring fairly fast, lost of cling lace behind.
S - HOLY hops! The smell of whole, fresh hops seem to jump into your nose. Malt is secondary, but present.
T - Taste follows smell. Very bitter start, sweet middle and a bitter end. Bitter bitter bitter.
M - Medium bodied, creamy, coating, sweet and bitter battle - bitter wins by a long shot.
D - Palate killer, but a nice ride there.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
