Growler shared by Dean (brewer at SDBC) at Big Brew Day 2011. Thanks! Poured into a snifter. This is a single hop beer made with Galaxy hops from Tasmania.
A: Dark golden orange with good clarity and a frothy white head.
S: Galaxy impart strong notes of orange flesh with a little gooseberry and a dash of lemon. They're a touch earthy. I also detect a little tangerine. Malt is redolent of caramel, providing balance.
T: Orange flesh melds with caramel and tangerine. The beer is well balanced and quite smooth. No alcohol is evident, and there's no harshness or astringency. Bitterness is at a lower moderate level.
M: Lower medium in body with moderate carbonation. Mouthfeel is smooth and sticky.
Overall: Pretty good stuff. It's nice to try a single hop beer when it uses a hop that is new to me.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
