Limerick could be thought of as a golden ale though at 6.0% ABV, it's stronger than goldens typically are. It's also brewed with wheat though not enough to call it a wheat beer. It is hazed chamomile yellow with no head or lace and shows little carbonation.
Limerick's first major problem arises from its aroma, most of which smells of sour lemon, but is also corrupted by medicinals and an isopropyl smell that can't be ignored. This smell doesn't wholly corrupt the flavor. But it doesn't help. The taste is otherwise of simple grainy bitterness. There's a chance that the lemon-medicinal aroma derives from some dish cleaning contaminant on the glass. Either way, it doesn't belong.
