Though I'd been enjoying much of Grove Street's beer menu, this was the one that really blew me away. Grove Street truly found its groove here. The porter is exemplary for its skilled mix of originality and tradition. It has a strong, engaging aroma that is variously maltsweet and mocha. The taste revolves around a complex interplay of bitter chocolate, roast grain, and sugar. And the bittering is masculine with a sharp, smoky tail.
Excellent and distinctive. It's like a glass of rugged individualism.
