This early-release summer seasonal tastes exactly as a kölsch ought to with a soft fruit-biscuit character punctuated by a modestly sharp tail that finishes clean. The thing that keeps me from appreciating it more is the complete lack of carbonation that compromises both the body and the appearance. Though a few wavy wisps of lace grip the glass, there's no lather to speak of and the mouthfeel is denied its greater potential. The restrained, unfiltered body is cool yellow.
With a bit more vigor, this one would score a notch or two higher. The flavor and drinkability are otherwise admirable.
