Pours a very dark mahogany brown with red highlights at the edges, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a thin head that dissipated quickly. Aroma of dark toasted malt, red cherries and hints of chocolate. Flavor of dry toasted malt, milk chocolate with a pleasant light hint of dark cherry juice. Mild carbonation (this was all my doing; the person who filled my growler told me it was a low carbonation keg, and the menu actually stated that the stouts were unavailable for growlers, but after a taste, I really wanted to take this home, so I insisted on a half growler pour). This is a very nice light stout, much more in style with Irish dry stout than an American stout (not very hopped). The cherry was subdued and could have been a little more aggressive, but worked nicely with the other flavors. I wish I had tried this at the pub with their nitro pours and think I would have enjoyed it even better. Still, I completely enjoyed drinking the whole growler. This will be my first choice when visiting this brewery again, which I definitely do. The rating for mouth feel is from the taster sample I had at the brewery; on tap is the proper way to sample this stout.
