355ml can poured into tulip.
Pours a clear brassy amber with one finger of white head that leaves dripping icicle lace as it recedes.
Smells of muddled citrus rind, sweet brown bread, minerals and decent piney hops.
Tastes of more bitter citrus and pine, caramel malt and bitter green hops.
Feels mild and easy. Medium bodied with gentle carbonation. Finishes dry.
Verdict: Recommended. Not a lot to say about it, but not bad.

Poured from a 355ml can
L: Musty yellow with a slight haze to it even though it's not unfiltered. Small white head that leaves a slight lacing when disappeared.
S: citrus smell with almost a little smell of pine or some earthy smell.
T: Instant bitter taste that follows with an earthy taste.
F: Low carbonation with a dirt aftertaste to it.
O: Not a terrible beer it doesn't have the greatest aftertaste to it, but it's also not the worst thing because it does leave your mouth soon afterwards.

One of the worst IPA's I have had in a while. Perhaps I am also biased due to the price I had to pay in Alberta for this beer... but I can only liken it to Tree Brewing in BC. A only mildly palatable IPA taste to begin with then leads to a ESB type mid and a TERRIBLE aftertaste.
Please skip this beer..... a terrible attempt and is not an IPA

Is it magic in a can? No. Is it a tasty American style IPA? Absolutely. The hop profile is very easy on the palate. This is definitely a sessionable IPA with a nice flavour profile - subtle notes of pine and grapefruit stick out in my mind. In my books, this is another success for the craft brewing wing of Drummond, and I'm looking forward to more!

355ml can, finally something new and interesting from Drummond, 4 pack, with a tasting notes card and sticker.
This beer pours a clear, pale copper color, with bubbly white head, some lacing but disappears quickly.
It smells of typical hop character, pine and grapefruit, plus caramel malt.
The taste is again typical IPA, but a bit muted. Citrus and piney hops, bready malt, finishes with more herbal/floral hops.
The carbonation is suitable, medium body, dry finish.
Good flavor, easily drinkable, but still a bit muted for what we have become accustomed to for an American IPA.

355ml can, part of a boxed 4-pack, with an actually attractive info and tasting notes card, as well as a sticker that I'm considering using to break my 'no adornments' policy on my beer fridge. We shall see.
This beer pours a clear, bright, and very pale copper amber colour, with two fingers of loosely foamy, bubbly, and kind of fizzy off-white head, which leaves some random spooky specter lace around the glass as it quickly blows off.
It smells of musty, dank pine needles, zesty orange and grapefruit rind, bready caramel malt, and further floral, earthy, and well perfumed hops. The taste is much less dank in its forest floor flora greenness, with a certain chalky flintiness that even overpowers the citrusy component of the hops, while the grainy, bready caramel malt hems and haws in its loitering buffalo stance.
The carbonation is nicely peppy, and supportive enough for the most part, the body an average medium weight for the style, and smooth, I suppose, but kind of clammy at the same time. It finishes off-dry, the still rather bready caramel malt and neutered piney hops in a dance of the increasingly banal.
Is this hoppy? Fo sho. It's just not a particularly engaging sort of hoppiness - no crisp, edgy, or sharp measures to be found here. Drinkable, yes (unless it's your father in law we're talking about), and I suppose it's a good start in the way of the IPA for this "Something Brewing" offshoot effort for Drummond.
