The Extra Pale Ale is a crisp, clean, dry and unmistakably hoppy American-style pale ale. We showcase citrusy Cascade hops from the American northwest for aroma and bittering. You'll enjoy an inviting aroma up front with a refined, smooth, bittering at the finish that doesn't overpower despite the IBU rating. It's "extra" pale because we use less caramel and more pale malt than your typical American pale ale. This imparts a lighter color with a sweet grain aroma and medium body.

3 ounce pour from the sampler.
This pours a clear orange color with a small quick dissolving 1 finger head that leave some lacing on the glass. Aromas are malts, fruits, with a small hop finish. Pretty good smelling pale ale. Taste is very smooth with hints of bready malts, oranges, and hops. Mouthfeel is thin bodied and crispy. Drinkability is pretty high. Wish this was available at more local bars.

on tap at Pi
pour was slight hazy straw yellow with slight orange. light white head, nice light retention.
mainly malts with lots bread and biscuit
this is heavy on the malt with lots of bread and biscuit. the hops come out as bitter and only bitter, no real pine, no real citrus, but a nice bitterness. this is not a bad thing, it added to the heavy malt which made this interesting and crisp.
medium body with a moderate carbonation.
a good moderate pale ale with great flavor. never over powering and very easy to drink

Pours a clear, copper color. 1/3 inch head of a white color. Good retention and good lacing. Smells of hop oils, citrus, and slight sweet malt. Fits the style of an American Pale Ale. Mouth feel is smooth and crisp with an average carbonation level. The bitterness level is also slightly high. Tastes of strong hop oils, slight sweet malt, and citrus. Overall, not well balanced, but drinkable and a nice body.

The xtra pale ale comes out in the shaker pint a very light amber with copper tinges on the edges. Top hat of white, but it disappears rather quickly.
Strong dose of piney hops in the aroma - enticing. But the quaff does not match it, only some subtle notes of da pine, with an underlying basket of flowers. Light bodied, had a crisp and clean finish. Fairly strong with a 6%, but no hint of alcohol in the taste.
A decent beer, but it too closely mimics the other brews (kolsch, whale and the esb). They need more distinct varieties.

A: Light, yellow, decieving. I guess they used a light malt for this. Decent head, nice lace.
S: Citrusy hops, some malt.
T: Citrus hops come up pretty quick. Maybe Cascade ( ? ) Guessing.. Nice balance with the malt, but, wonder how a roasted malt would do here.
M: Light. Refreshing. Not much lingering bitterness, which I agree with.
D: For me, much over 40 IBU's tends to start getting over my comfort zone, I'm not a hophead. This is a damn good beer. Just right for a malthead like me, looking for a little dose of hops.
