Thanks to Joe for sharing this beer!
Pours a dark brown color with a brownish head that leaves some lacing on the glass.
The smell has the whiskey front in center, and it is clearly not a bourbon, but seems more like a rye whiskey. Has that sweet woody aroma that the whiskey barrels give and beneath that is just a small veil of dark smoky malts.
The taste and feel are similar to the nose, it is a little thin in both categories and the flavor has less barrel than the nose suggested. A semi watery porter with just a hint of smoke, the feel is also watery. Not the greatest barrel aged porter I've had, it underwhelms.
Overall, ok, but I'd pass on this again.

A - Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, tan head of bubbly foam. It left some sudsy trails of lace on the glass.
S - Boozy with strong whickey notes. Some roasted malt and toffee.
T - Over the top boozy and whiskey flavored at first. As it warmed, it mellowed quite a bit. Some booziness blends with chocolate, molasses and toffee.
M - It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A medium bodied ale with a fairly dry finish.
O - This is amazing how much it changed as it warmed. At first I thought it was undrinkable but then it became very good.
