On nitro tap at Eagle Rock Brewery in Los Angeles, CA.
Pours an almost opaque super dark crimson-brown with a foamy reddish-khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, cocoa powder, and roasted nut aromas. Taste is much the same with nut, cocoa powder, and char flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a smooth, creamy, and slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is tasty, but the smell is much better to me.
Serving type: on nitro tap.
