Hazy amber brew with plenty of foam in the tall Petrus goblet. Modest scent of citrus and pineapple. Taste is lime peel and dark herbs. Citrus pulp and tangerine with endless grapefruit pith. The first couple of sips are interesting, and then it gets acidic and the gunky feeling in the back of the throat takes over.

I'm surprised this has been around for four years, at least. In fact the NE style didn't even exist on BA when this was added in 2015. Classic murky swill with a hot, fizzy mouthfeel. Moderate bitter aftertaste with a pencil shavings edge. From the 16 oz can. "Enjoy by 02.22.20."

 

Poured from 16oz can into Snifter glass. No date.

L: Hazy yellow, half finger width white head recedes relatively quickly into a thin ring.

S: Tons of juicy hop aroma, tropical and citrusy fruit. Mouthwatering.

T: Again, tons of juicy hops, lots of rich tropical fruity flavors, really delicious.

F: Light, crisp, smooth mouthfeel. Semi-dry finish.

O: Really nice DIPA.

 

16oz can, served in a snifter glass. Pours a beautiful hazy and cloudy straw yellow body, with a one finger white head. Plenty of retention, rings of lacing. Beautiful beer, and a surprise to boot. I was expecting a west-coast style look to it just based on its location. Smells of rich grapefruit rind, juicy citrus pulp, a bit of grainy sweetness but not all that much; really a nice juicy aroma. Flavour is a bit different; there is still a lot of grapefruit rind contributing a bit of bitterness but not much by west coast IPA standards; there is a nice big citrus bite with mild grainy sweetness, presumably the oats. Really nice, still fairly juicy with a nice bitterness to it. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, creamy, absolutely delicious with a good depth presumably from the oats. There is a mild warming heat on the backend, which is perfect given the idea of this being a winter IPA. Overall, a surprisingly well executed IPA in the New England style vein but with a nice mouthfeel and warmth to it; all of that deserves a high five. Great beer.

Beautiful yet murky coloring on this brew: cloudy, golden yellow, and opaque. Head was a little flat but retained a thin wispy layer of filminess on the top throughout the drink. This thin head allowed for some easy lacing all the way down. Citrus packed on the nose. Grapefruit, lemon, orange (juice, zest) all fill the ol' olfactory bulb pretty readily. Once that dies down, if that dies down, you might catch hints of pine, cinnamon, and mustard. Strangely absent from the nose was any grains, oh I don't know, like oats? Maybe they'll show up in the mouth instead......or not. Maybe it was the way this particular brew was presented to me but I was definitely expecting more oats. Far more fruits are to be found here. Roast and malt hints come out on the back of the swallow followed by a gentle bitter aftertaste. Healthy levels of carbonation lend for a bright, crisp brew. AYO provides for a pleasant zing while on the tongue that mellows as it warms and doesn't overstay its welcome after being swallowed. The zap of the carbonation pairs well with the citrus notes.
Gorgeous looking, All Your Oat...falls a little flat in the chemical senses. I was really hoping for an oat enhanced brew that wasn't a stout. True that on the finish you can catch a glimpse of a toasted oat flavor; however, for a brew so boldly named, I didn't plan on having to search so hard for the namesake. Oats aside, the balance of flavor to feel was spot on and really was what saved this brew for me. Maybe I got too hung up on the name?

Pours a murky golden-yellow with a foamy off-white head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Foamy swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Tiny particles of sediment are seen suspended in the beer after the pour. Smell is of citrus fruit, citrus zest, tropical fruit, and slight pine needle aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest, grapefruit juice, tropical fruit, and toasted oat flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer with nice citrus and tropical hop qualities, but the oats are only coming through in the taste for me.
