Served in a shaker pint glass at the brewpub.
I'm always up for a new local beer, especially when the brewers are as cool as they are at the Monk. This one pours a dark-ish ruby-garnet topped by a finger of cream foam. The nose comprises rich caramel, toffee, light cocoa, graham cracker, and toasted biscuit. The taste holds notes of toasted oats, caramel, light roasted malts, light coffee, and an even lighter vein of vanilla in the back. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a kinda dry finish. Overall, a very nice brown, something they should consider moving into their regular rotation.
