POured from a 22oz brown bottle with blue waxed cap. Poured into a DFH mini snifter which got thrown into the campfire when someone drank too much SN Celebration and was screaming Henry Rollinns' "Liar".
The beer poured a jet black but fast and thin unlike a stout or porter with a vigorous but quick dissolving bubbly coca-cola like head.
The smell is distinctively hoppy with a coffee ground finish. I am looking forward to this one.
The taste is awesome. A sharp hop wallop hits you up front but dissolves over time into a coffee/chocolate finish with a slight biscuit taste at the end. I only wish the hops taste lasted a little longer.
The mouthful is mild and refreshing, the flush was like an iced coffee. The hops properties make this beer characteristic of a Black IPA especially with the malty finish.
Overall, this is an easy drinking beer, I would definitely drink this beer again. I give a solid A to this beer and brewery.
