On-tap at the brewpub, on to the beer:
Long lasting white head on top this brown colored beer. The nose is sweet, but it smells like the yeast is doing the work. Candi sugar and pears do the work to tease the nostrils. Is this Begian inspired here? As I tasted it, I was certain of it. It's like a "small Belgian". There is a note of peppermint, a good dose of candi sugar and pears, and also a taste of clove.
This is called a brown ale by the brewpub, and while it is brown, it's very Belgian in character. In truth, it tastes a lot like a small version of their stronger "Strong Bossa". Certainly worth trying out.
