Bandwagon's Doppelbock has Pitch black body with a thin brown head. Not much retention of lacing.
The aroma shows off a lot of malt with toffee and chocolate. There is also a noticeable amount of alcohol in there.
Bandwagon has a pretty tasty beer here. A dominant malt profile features just a bit of caramel sweetness that lives underneath baker's chocolate and toffee. The chocolate has powdery that stops this beer from being too sweet, keeping it rich and satisfying. A hint of fruit linger in the background, as do just a bit of hops. The finish has a good alcohol warmth to it.
Mouthfeel is full and thick, which it needs to be with all this malt and alcohol.
This might be my favorite Bandwagon offering so far. Considering the fact that they ran through 2 sixtels in less than a week, I'm guessing other people agree with me.
