Had on tap at Toronado.
Served in a tulip, deep heavy bronze color with a pillowy white head. Laces admirably.
The smell is bourbon, spicy and thick. Very oaky and acidic as well.
Upon the first sip I was assaulted with bourbon flavor. Really spicy with a mild burn to it and very strong alcohol flavors. Like the aroma, there is a present oak/acidity to it. While initially harsh, it warms in the mouth and finishes with an insane vanilla bean character that is also the bourbon finish. This is one of those rare instances where the alcohol flavor and mild burn complement the drink rather than detract. Massive flavor and completely addicting.
WhooHa! After the first sip I almost wanted to give up, but I stuck it through and became a convert. This is a big beer with a fair amount of complexity and possibly the best finish I have tasted on a beer. Props to Alec for creating this amazing brew!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
