10 ounce glass at the Bistro in Hayward for four dollars on 1/23/09, reviewed from notes, ordered this without knowing much about it all, color is medium brown, 3/4 inch light tan head that stays for close to ten minutes, nice retention and lacing, first of all I am not a fan of Wild Turkey but wow did this beer from that barrel smell good, fantastic vanilla and toffee scents, also some brown sugar and caramel, flavor starts off a little sweet, then chewiness rounds out the middle, finish is dry with whiskey, then it mellows out into a sweet boozy aftertaste, liked how this warmed too, sweet, hot, dry, and malty mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, so easy to drink and was told it was around nine percent alcohol, light and smooth, yummy, first beer I have sampled from this brewery and it was a great one, so glad that what was left of this keg from their barrel aged festival was held onto and put back on tap when I happened to be there, great use of the whiskey barrel, would love to have more, recommended
