Copenhagen 29/10 2018. 33 cl bottle from Den Gamle Købmand, St. Annæ Plads, Kbh. K. On the label I find an Angry-looking grey(!) Sheep surrounded by lightning for some obscure reason. They Seem pretty preoccupied by the fact that they have only used “the Best Faroese Water”.
Pours dark amber with small white head. Pretty light for a beer called “Black Sheep”. Settles as thin remnants of foam drifting around.
Aroma is sweetish and a little metallic. Caramel, brown sugar with a hard metallic edge. Light notes of roast.
Medium strong carbonation. Thin, watery and oddly flat texture.
Flavor is medium sweet followed by and partly balanced my slightly more moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is thin and sweetish. Lingers only shortly.
A quite thin dark lager. It might be made using “the Best Faroese Water”. Now they only need some decent malts and hops.

On tap at Hotel Føroyar, Torshavn. Beautiful chestnut colour, moderate off-white head, some lacing. Moderate but nice aroma of malts and caramel. Flavour of caramel and diacetyl, but not too sweet, with the "house character" metallic and slightly sourish finish.

Review: 33cl bottle of Föroya Bjór Black Sheep: 5.8% vol.
Bottle looks class. A very cool logo of an angry looking ram struck down by lightning, in an all black bottle. I hope they have these printed on tee shirts, as I’d buy one. Excellent and you know this is going to be fun even before you crack open the bottle. About as good a logo as you can get off a bottle. Comes in cans and bottles.
A dark lager from the Faroe Islands. Not often I get to sample anything from this archipelago, so I will try to enjoy this one.
On pour I get a brownish colour with a small whitish head. It looks ok for a black lager, won’t complain.
On the nose it is very fruity and I am also getting hints of coffee. Interesting.
First impressions on the pour is I am not getting a lot from the bottle, damn!
Otherwise I am getting the sweet caramel and the dark roasted malts.
Deep tasting that lingers in the mouth. Not a bad taste, nice enough to swivel on and enjoy. Quite tasty in fact. The bitterness is there but manageable.
Not bad, very good considering its from way up North in the faraway Faroe Islands, Very drinkable, liked it, will return in future.

Somewhat roasty, somewhat caramelized malt. Good mouthfeel. If the variety pack from today brewery, this is the best one. Which is to say, it's just fine for the style

Pours a clear, amber/copper colour. Smells like dark malts, with a hint of sticky fruit. Tastes like it smells, mostly sweet, dark malts, with a hint of fruit at the end.
