A clear, dark copper beer with a small head and a steady stream of carbonation.
Smell of dark malts, biscuity, light roasted, bready. Some light hints of oak wood. Maybe some ripe cherries.
Taste is light roasted like biscuit malt, lots of crystal malt and hints of wood. Just general wood. A nice Belgian fruitiness. The alcohol is warming and leans towards sharp, but is not. Drinkability is great. The 8% alcohol could be easily missed.

The 175th anniversary beer from the Koninck brewery. This beer is bottled into very traditional bottles of which the people from the Koninck found a whole set in the basement of the brewery. Poured into my Westmalle glass. The beer pours a clear, dark amber color with almost no head.
Smell: Wheat, caramel malty, some nuts and bread
The taste is sweet with some bitter, brown sugar on the foreground. A bit spicy (pepper), fruity with notes of alcohol (bit too strong). Aftertaste is caramel sweet and bitter, dry finish.
Mouthfeel: thin bodied. Medium carbonation. Nothing special
Overall a decent beer, but I expected more from an anniversary brew. Too thin and watery. But not too bad if you are thirsty and nothing better is around...
