Golden color with a thick two finger head with short retention.
Aroma with notes of white bread and herbal and floral hops.
Flavor with notes of malt sweetness, herbal and floral hops, apples and biscuit. Dry aftertaste with a medium bitterness.
Light body with appropriate carbonation.
This is much better than their Pilsen version. This is faithful to style, so still balanced to malt but still attenuated and with perceived hops. Good cost benefit ratio.

350 ml bottle, poured in a mug. This beer has changed from the time of the last review, since now ABV is 5.2%. Deep golden liquid, with very little foam. Strong aroma of malty caramel well combined with grassy hops. Same on mouth, but not as strong. Persistent flavor. Sweetness and bitterness are moderate and balanced. Medium body and alcohol doesn't show up. Great and not very expensive beer.

With a good experience of their premium lager years back, I return to Cidade Imperial with modest hopes of their helles. Coming out of a 355 ml bottle, on to the beer:
The beer looks almost like bronze. What's frightening is that the beer pours nearly flat, just a white lace which fades to nothing. It smells like cider, and there's an odd sweetness which I can't put my finger on. A wee better is the taste, but it's still substandard. Dry husk and grain attempt to break the monopoly of cider which is the dominate flavor tasted. The beer is light bodied, with very low carbonation.
Something had to have gone wrong with this bottle. I was able to drink it, but this doesn't taste right.
