.4L green glass bottle from the Serdika mall supermarket in Sofia. Reviewed from notes taken in May 2016.
Aroma is surprisingly herbal, with subsidiary grassiness in there too. Licorice/aniseed. Pilsner malts.
Taste follows, going heavy on the herbal character...mainly aniseed and licorice. Possibly fennel too. Malt backbone is neutral, but luckily isn't too sweet. Okay, it's simple and shallow, but the herbal emphasis is a nice change of pace from the usual Kamenitza insipidness.
Texture is overcarbonated. Smooth, wet, crisp, light-bodied. Average heft and weight on the palate.
Drinkable but forgettable fare from Kamenitza, though it's got more flavour than the brewery's more ubiquitous offerings. I'm glad I tried it, but I'm in no rush to pick up a second bottle.
