A small hip place near (or maybe in) downtown Knoxville. They have snack foods that I did not try. I brought in food. The staff was very friendly and helpful to all patrons. Nice selection of beers with 2 different flight options - 4 core beers plus 1 for $9 or any 5 for $12. I really enjoyed all the beers that I tried.

We were doing tour of the breweries in Des Moines and enjoying a beautiful day. However, we kept getting the same question wherever we stopped: Are you going to Peace Tree in Knoxville? We figured there must be something special going on. It's off the beaten path and definitely a destination, but SO worth it. The beer is fantastic and the people amazing. They were busy yet the owner dropped everything to give us a full tour and told us the story of the Peace Tree. (yes it's real) Highly recommended and we'll be back!!

Set up in an old car dealership at the heart of Knoxville this brewery makes some fine beer. It ahs an industrial feel with the old concrete floors, brick walls, and tin tile accents. There's about a dozen tables with some booths also and about 10 bar seats. There were over 10 tap selections, most available for growlers, plus some bottles and root beer. It was a slow Sunday afternoon so only one employee was needed. He was happy to pour glass, sample, or little taste of what was available; and was knowledgable of the different types of beer on hand. I got a glass of Blonde Fatale, then got a growler of it to bring back to DSM. they have 64 oz AND 32 oz growlers available, which is nice if drinking a 1/2 gallon of beer before it goes flat seems like a bit of a chore. They don't serve food so we brought in our own snacks. There is some room for a toddler to run around but lots of obsticals.

I visited Peace Tree Brewing on a Friday afternoon. They were busy when we arrived. The service was very good despite a full bar. They took care of us quickly even though we had five in our party. We grabbed some beers and got a table. It was quite noisy but very comfortable. The Blonde Fatale was a nice choice. Refreshing and a nicely done belgian style selection. The Templeton Red was very good. Malty and very drinkable. I will be back to this establishment when I return to the corn state.

This company is an Up and Comer in the Midwestern craft beer scene. They are only about a year old and are off to a great start. I have high hopes for what they will become. The brief tour is very professional and the service is exceptional because the brewer and the owners are often there shmoozing with their guests. The food is limited to take out from other local businesses but they make up for it with a warm, inviting atmosphere. Hop Rangler IPA is great, but their specialty and seasonal beers are what brings me back. I really hope they bring back their Double IPA, because it was unlike anything that I have ever had (it's a DIPA brewed with Belgian yeast).

When you enter there are a number of tables around the building and a small bar in the back. Behind the bar is a window that you can see the brewery through. One big screen TV above the bar. They have some different decorations around (depending on the season) and are very community oriented. Has a nice, small, local bar feeling.
The tap list consists of their bottled selections as well as usually 1-4 draft only releases that tend to be seasonal beers. They also have their root beer and usually an orange soda or ginger ale on tap. They also sell their bottled beers and bottled root beer. They use proper glassware, they have snifters, pint glasses, stange/weizen, and some wine like glasses.
The service has always been great whenever I have gone there. They know the product well and are very helpful. They get a mix of macro drinkers and regulars (I'm sure a number they converted from macros). They get a lot of questions concerning macros (why they don't serve them and what is most like them) and they always are helpful to them. The waitstaff is happy to give you a sample if you ask for one. They also like to talk beer with customers (as well as other subjects). The full time staff will show you around the brewery in back, and if Joe, the brewer, is there he is willing to talk and show you around back there.
They don't have any food there, but they are have numbers for local food places that will deliver there. Pints of their regular offerings is $3.50, half pints for $2.00, and growler refills for $11 ($13 for first growler).
Great brewery with excellent staff. Very involved with the community and are about buying and supporting local businesses. Really great people that are really starting to bring a new outlook on beer in Iowa. New brewery that definitely has a bright future. Selection is a little limited now due to space restriction, but it sounds like in the future more beers will be available. I would definitely recommend stopping in if you are near the area, although at the moment the tap room is only open Thur. - Sat.
