Located on a pleasant, quiet boulevard just a couple of blocks from the Place Trocadero. The clientele seemed to be about evenly split between tourists, ex-pats and locals.
The exterior is a flashy looking glass and brushed aluminum front with a big FROG XVI sign in metal. Interior was sort of upscale British Local with lounge chairs, tables, games big TV etc. I did my drinking out on the sidewalk at a small cafe table. Room for about 20 on the sidewalk.
Beers were house-made and of good quality but basically not interesting. Six varieties on tap:
Natural Blonde was a very weak, flavorless light beer
Maison Blanche reminded me of Blue Moon; citrusy wheat beer
Inseine was basically a Mild English Bitter
Dark de Triomphe billed as a dry stout but kind of watered-down to my taste
Parislytic is supposed to be hoppy like an ESB but tasted more like an American Pale; pretty good though.
Ginger Twist was the best of the lot. Tasty amber with added hops and spices. Most of the ex-pats at the table beside me were drinking the Ginger.
Food menu was mostly bar snacks, nachos, etc. I had the onion bhajis which are essential an Indian version of onion rings. They were excellent.
Service was very-efficient and friendly. Three servers for the sidewalk area were bi-lingual British kids. I asked one for a sample of beer and the waitress brought me a free sample tray of all six beers!
I would rate this place as a good value, for Paris. My cost for two pints, the free samplers and a medium appetizer was 18 Euros.
Overall, this is a decent place for a couple of beers. Just don't expect to be wowed by the brewing.
